The Board of Directors of Schaffner Holding AG will recommend to the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on January 14, 2013 that Gerhard Pegam be elected to the Board of Directors. Pegam, an Austrian national, will succeed Hans Hess, who is not running for re-election for professional reasons. Gerhard Pegam, 50, is an industrial manager. Since 2010 he has been on the Board of Directors and the Strategic Committee of OC Oerlikon Corporation AG as well as a member of the Supervisory Board of Süss Micro Tech AG in Germany. For 11 years, until early 2012, he was the Chief Executive Officer for EPCOS AG, which operates in markets similar to the ones in which the Schaffner Group is active. In addition, from 2009 to 2012 he was a member of the Board of Directors of TDK-EPC Corp., the parent company of EPCOS AG. From mid-2011 to mid-2012 he was a Corporate Officer of TDK Corporation, Japan, and from 2004 to 2012 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (Zentralverband der Deutschen Elektroindustrie – ZVEI). Gerhard Pegam graduated from the Technical College Klagenfurt, Austria, in 1981 with a degree in electrical engineering.
